Ed Train

Ed Train is one of the latest cadets to join the business, completing his year 13 studies in 2021. A farming background, agriculture studies at school and tractor work have all led Ed to his rural career. Only holding a class one hasn’t held Ed back. With assistance, he has already progressed to his class 2.

Since joining, Ed has spent time with some of our more experienced drivers, learning the ropes. His upbringing on his family farm in Patoka has given him a good background in the rural industry.

Ed says he loves his new job, discovering parts of Central and Southern Hawke’s Bay that he has never visited before.

Guy Tahatu

When you talk to Guy he says he thinks he has found his “dream job!”

Guy has spent a good part of his working career shearing. He followed his Dad into the woolsheds in his teens. Shearing has seen Guy travel and work around the South Island and the lower North, however, Guy always wanted to drive and gaining his class 5 with Stephenson Transport means the opportunities are endless.

Guy is born and bred Otane, Central Hawke’s Bay, which with his farming knowledge means that when he is dispatched, he knows exactly where he is going – (and undoubtedly how many stands the woolshed has!).

Guy’s shearing background also means he has a good grounding in livestock handling, however, he also has taken advice readily.

If you are looking for a career change – maybe rural driving will give you the opportunities you are looking for. You too could be like Guy and find your “Dream Job”
